The Internet Of Things And Big Data Are Two Sides Of The Same Coin

Why is the growth of Big Data and the Internet of Things is accelerating so fast, Why is it affecting both technology and regulatory issues, What are the increasing benefits and risks for companies? These and other related questions will be answered at the 9th annual European GRC Summit in Stockholm.

The success of a business's ability to harness, analyse and exploit vast amounts of both open and proprietary data together with total integration, embedding and restructuring the current IT and data structure will determine the triumph to accomplish new business opportunities. Our suggestion is always to focus on a preliminary assessment and create a roadmap and a framework to Big Data and the Internet of Things. The roadmap and framework are designed to provide a high-level overview of the fast-moving areas of technology and IT, without affecting or compromising the IT and Cybersecurity drivers.

What is Big Data
Big Data are the outsized, varied, and multifaceted data and information that is distributed and collected. The massive data sets are now generated from a variety of sources; instruments, sensors, Internet transactions, email, video, click streams, and almost all other digital sources.

Because IT managers, manufacturers, regulators and oversight allowed Big Data to be what it is, BIGDATA. Act wisely before the unstructured data becomes so big that it is beyond the capacity of most traditional software tools to capture, manage and process within acceptable timeframes.

Connect, control and classify the data
Loading the sources of Big Data will combine the datasets from all publicly available open data sources, privately generated sources including proprietary or licensed data sets to the information that is generated via the Internet of Things.

To connect, control and classify the massive data, special Big Data analytic tools are needed to identify the development and the lack of simplicity.

Integrate, embed and automate
Internet of things is on te flip side of big data; that describes the ability of the devices mentioned above to communicate with each other using embedded sensors.Automation is then achieved when the sensors are linked through wired and wireless networks. Together with the BIGdata these devices use the internet to transmit, compile and analyse the big data. If bot sides of the coin are in sync, execution capabilities combined with ambient intelligence and autonomous control.

The best use of the data is to enable predictions, forecasts and business improvements that can be made on the basis and analysis of the data. To learn more attend the 9th annual GRC Summit in Stockholm or the IT security Seminar in Copenhagen.

"Now we stand to face a new industrial revolution: a digital one. With cloud computing its new engine, big data its new fuel. Transporting the amazing innovations of the internet, and the internet of things. Running on broadband rails: fast, reliable, pervasive." (Neelie Kroes, European Commissioner for the Digital Agenda, March 2014)
